Valdoltra Orthopaedic Hospital

Valdoltra Orthopaedic Hospital (VOH) was founded in 1909 and it is located on the northern Adriatic coast of the Mediterranean Sea, close to Italian border.  With 200 beds it is the largest Slovenian orthopedic institution. It is internationally renowned as a highly specialised hospital offering updated wide spectrum orthopaedic care, research and education in most of the following sub-specialities: Joint replacement, Foot and Ankle, Bone infections, Arthroscopy and Sport Injuries, Spine and Children’s Orthopaedics. The VOH provide health cares for more than 32000 patients annually in the outpatient clinic. In 6 operating theaters up to 4800 elective orthopaedic procedures (no trauma) are performed annually among those up to 2000 artificial joints are implanted. VOH is the largest referral centre for artificial joint failures in Slovenia.
